Windows H2V2 – Error Executing Script Hotfix

Published:  11/10/2024

The newest Windows 11 24H2 update causes “Error Executing Scripts”. The windows update has begun setting a local policy that, by default, causes applications to use the JavaScript engine “JScript9Legacy.dll” instead of “JScript.dll”.

JScript9Legacy.dll does not contain the full functionality that CaseView requires. This will impact all outstanding versions of Working Papers, including the upcoming Working Papers 2024 update 1.

  Answer:

Caseware has put together detailed step-by-step instructions on how firms can use Group Policies or a registry key change to resolve this issue across all their Working Papers users, or you can download and install this hotfix to resolve the issue. After downloading the hotfix please extract the zip file and double-click on the “24H2 fix.reg” file to run it.
