FAQ

What is the difference between an In-Network and Out-of-Network responder?

Published:  20/07/2023

  Answer:

If you are required to add a bank on Confirmation manually, then this is classified as an out-of-network responder.

Out-of-network confirmation does not include authentication and authorisation of the responding bank (financial institution). Confirmation has performed no procedures to validate either the financial institution or the individual responding to the confirmation. This responsibility lies with the auditor who must determine that the confirmation was sent to the proper source and that the responding bank is authorised to respond.

Note: Kindly note that we do not assist with out-of-network confirmations or manual requests.

In-Network confirmations require no additional authentication or authorisation procedures by the auditor. Confirmation maintains a contractual relationship with the responding entity (financial institution) and performs these validations on behalf of the auditor.
