How to format financial statements?

  Instructions:

The financial statements can be formatted globally. This ensures that the user only needs to change the formatting once, saving the user time in allowing them to concentrate on drafting the financial statements. 
  • From the Freeze Pane, select Document | Format Document.

  • The Format document dialogue appears:

  •  Select each tab and change the properties as desired. 
 

Example:

Below is an example representing the different properties of the Statement of Financial Position:

  • Justification/ Indents: When starting a new set of financial statements, do not change the left indents from ‘At margin’ to ‘Indented’. This will result in the following error when the user attempts to change table properties:

  • Always leave the Indent for last and make sure that only the sections with note numbers like the Accounting Policies, Notes to the financial statements and the Directors’ Report are left Indented.
