FAQ

What is the client registration number?

Published:  20/07/2023

  Answer:

A client registration number is a unique identifying number that assists the banks with locating an audit client profile.

The client registration number is:
  • For a company = company registration number
  • Individual/Sole proprietor = ID number
  • Non-profit organisation = NPO number
If the client does not fall under any of the above, simply enter “N/A” and continue with the rest of the form.

Should the client have a company registration number, and the auditor has entered “N/A” in the company registration field, the responder may deny the forms on the grounds of incorrect company registration number.

Banks have been denying forms due to incorrect company registration number. When adding forms on Confirmation, auditors need to refer to the bank instructions in order to enter the correct client registration number.
