How to use calculated journals and linking calculation to MS excel.
Answer:
On the Journal Entry screen in the Document Manager, select the
‘Calculated’
checkbox
Open the MS Excel workbook and copy the relevant cell that should be linked using either the
right-click | Copy
option or the ‘
CTRL + C
’ hotkey.
Paste the copied value in the
‘Calculation’
field using either the
right-click | Paste
or the
‘CTRL + V’
hotkey
A link to the MS Excel workbook will be created and the balance will be automated from the workbook
Note :The journal can be recalculated to update the journal to the latest balance using the
Recalculate
button or by selecting
Tools | Recalculate
Adjusting Journal Entries from the Caseware Menu.
