How do I lock or unlock accounts in the Working Trial Balance?
Note: No further changes can be made to transactions, adjusting journal entries, account balances, and properties once an account is locked. Only unrecorded adjusting entries can be created using the account.
Answer:
Steps to follow:
Go to the working trial balance of your file
Make sure the "Lock" column is visible.
Check/ Uncheck the box in the Lock column to Lock/ Unlock the account(s) respectively
Multiple rows can be modified at the same time by selecting the rows while holding down the "Ctrl" key and clicking the "Lock" check box in any row. On the Edit menu, click Select All to highlight all rows at once.
