Caseware | Assigning full administrator rights to the Caseware folder

How do I edit the permissions for the Caseware Working Papers directory on a local user machine? 

  Answer:

NB: This procedure may require the log in credentials for the Administrator/IT Administrator.
Furthermore, assistance from an IT professional in executing this procedure is recommended


1.  Go to “This PC’ on File Explorer | Open the “Windows (C:)” icon

2. Select “Program Files (x86)” | Double-click to open the folder | Select the "Caseware" folder

3. Right click on the Caseware folder | Select “Properties”

4. A dialogue box should appear as follows, Select the “Security” tab from the available tabs.
On the security tab,  Click on “Edit” to edit/change permissions

5. Ensure that for all group or usernames that the checkbox for “Full control” is checked as is below.
    Click on “Apply” and then once the security properties are updated, click “OK”

6. Click on “Ok” to close the properties dialogue box.
